ADOBE: Flash CS5

Adobe Flash CS5 is now a web standard and the only widely distributed technology for integrating vector graphics and animation into web sites. This combination of design and animation tools is complimented by a strong development environment that allows programmers to create highly interactive database driven technologies. Adobe Flash CS5 sees the arrival of a host of exciting new features, including an improved script editor (with a visual interface); a revamped library interface; a new Undo feature; powerful run-time effects; and breakthrough motion-graphics capabilities to name but a few.

2 DAY INTRODUCTORY COURSE (Tutor Led)
This two day scheduled Flash introduction course provides designers and developers new to the Flash environment the knowledge and hands-on practice they need to create rich Flash content. In addition to teaching essentials, the course focuses on teaching best practices for creating Flash content.  Upon successful completion delegates will be able to:

  • Create an Adobe Flash Document

  • Set up a Adobe Flash document

  • Import and create graphics

  • Use Adobe Flash drawing tools

  • Create and use symbols

  • Produce Motion and Shape animations

  • Import Sound and Video

  • Use Scipt Assist and Behaviors to add simple interactivity

  • Publish an Adobe Flash Document in one of several formats

This course is intended for designers and developers who are new to Flash and who want to learn the interface and commonly used features.   To gain the most from this session, delegates should be familiar with the Windows or Mac OS X operating system and the web and its terminology.

3 DAY ACTIONSCRIPT INTRODUCTION
This three day scheduled Flash ActionScript introduction course shows delegates how to use Flash, the industry's most advanced authoring environment to create interactive websites, digital experiences and mobile content. The course teaches fundamental programming techniques. It begins by introducing core concepts including instance names, variables, functions, properties, and methods; then proceeds through conditions, loops, event handling, and animating with Adobe Flash ActionScript.  Upon successful completion delegates will be able to:

  • Variables and Properties

  • Functions and Methods

  • TextFormat Class

  • Attaching MovieClip Objects at Runtime

  • Event Handling

  • Arrays, Objects, and built-in classes

  • Loops and Conditions

  • ActionScript Classes

  • ActionScript Animation

This course is for Flash designers who have some experience with Flash design and would like to learn basic and intermediate ActionScript.   To gain the most from this session, delegates should have attended our introduction to Flash CS5 course or have a similar knowledge level before attending this course. Delegates should have experience creating Flash designs and animation using the timeline.
